CONSIGNMENT RELEASE PERMIT IMPORT AND RE-EXPORT (CPIP)

Consignment Release Permit (CPIP) service enables you to obtain an import permit from Dubai Municipality to release consumer product consignments imported for the purpose of the local market, non-commercial use, or re-export through the UAE’s ports, after ensuring the safety and conformity of the product with the adopted health and safety standards and requirements prior to their entry to the Emirate of Dubai.

The Consignment Release Permit (CRP) is a document issued by the Dubai Customs in collaboration with the Dubai Municipality to authorize the release of imported consignments into the Dubai market. The CRP is a crucial document for businesses involved in international trade as it ensures that imported goods comply with the regulations set by the Dubai Municipality and the UAE government.

The CRP is part of the Cargo Clearance and Release System (CCRS) which was introduced by the Dubai Customs to facilitate trade and ensure compliance with regulations. The CCRS is an online platform that allows businesses to submit applications for import clearance, and it provides a single point of contact for all government agencies involved in the clearance process.

The CRP is issued by the Customs Product Inspection Department (CPID) of the Dubai Municipality. The CPID is responsible for inspecting imported consignments to ensure that they comply with the regulations set by the Dubai Municipality and the UAE government. The inspection process involves checking the quality, safety, and authenticity of the imported goods.

To obtain a CRP, businesses must submit an application through the CCRS. The application should include details about the imported goods, such as the product name, manufacturer, quantity, and value. Businesses must also provide information about the origin of the goods and any relevant documentation such as invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.

Once the application is submitted, the CPID conducts an inspection of the imported consignment to ensure that it complies with the regulations set by the Dubai Municipality and the UAE government. The inspection process involves checking the quality, safety, and authenticity of the imported goods. If the goods are found to be in compliance with the regulations, the CRP is issued, and the consignment is released into the Dubai market.

The CRP is a crucial document for businesses involved in international trade as it ensures that imported goods comply with the regulations set by the Dubai Municipality and the UAE government. Without a CRP, imported goods may not be released into the Dubai market, which can result in delays and financial losses for businesses.

The CRP is valid for a period of 15 days from the date of issue, and it must be presented to the Dubai Customs along with other relevant documentation such as the bill of lading, commercial invoice, and packing list, to clear the imported goods through customs.

In addition to the CRP, the Dubai Municipality also requires businesses to obtain other permits and certifications for certain products. For example, businesses importing food products must obtain a food import permit from the Dubai Municipality, while businesses importing cosmetics must obtain a cosmetic product registration certificate.

In conclusion, the Consignment Release Permit (CRP) is a crucial document for businesses involved in international trade in Dubai. The CRP is issued by the Customs Product Inspection Department (CPID) of the Dubai Municipality to authorize the release of imported consignments into the Dubai market. The CRP ensures that imported goods comply with the regulations set by the Dubai Municipality and the UAE government, and it is part of the Cargo Clearance and Release System (CCRS) which was introduced by the Dubai Customs to facilitate trade and ensure compliance with regulations.
